Submissions
Children’s book publisher now accepting story and picture book submissions
All you need to do is send across the full manuscript of your work, with a covering letter stating your name, title of your work and genre with a short synopsis. Your synopsis should be no longer than one page of A4.
If you haven’t yet finished the work but would like to know if it would be something we are interested in before completing then you are also welcome to send samples of the manuscript to us.
We require 5 poems as a sample and then if they pass the initial review, we would request at least 25 to make a collection.
Please always try to submit a digital copy of your work, preferably as one single document in Microsoft Word or PDF format. Our editorial team will undertake a comprehensive review of all work that is submitted to us.
At VP we now work with the hybrid publishing model and offer two types of publishing contracts:
Traditional contract
This is where no costs are incurred by the author and the whole cost for producing, publishing and marketing the work is covered by us.
Hybrid publishing contract
This offer is based on a contribution, to be paid by the author, to cover initial production and printing of the work.
Ways to submit
We consider submissions from a wide range of genres, both children and adult fiction and non-fiction; from memoirs and biographies to science fiction and fantasy.
We only accept online submissions.
Please include your name and book title in the subject of the email and then send us the following:
- A synopsis of your book
- A covering letter
- The full manuscript
We only accept submissions written in the English language.
We are only able to accept one submission at a time during the editorial process.
We have a four-week review process.
We will get back in touch with you with our feedback. This process can take up to five weeks. This process can vary depending on the time of year.
At VP we pride ourselves on our responsive nature. We confirm the receipt of all submissions and inform you of our decision regarding them.
You do not require an Agent to submit to us. We treat Agents and Authors with the same respect.
